Canting Measurement and Adjustment

Adjusting correctly the canting of the ski boot allows you to take a correct position of the leg, have a optimal edge grip and maintain optimal posture: canting adjustment is so important, not only for benefits it provides in term of speed performance, but above all to prevent injuries and joint pain.

Advantages
1.Injury prevention
2.right position
3.Comfort
4.Performance
5.Precision

Ski Boot CLA is an measuring instrument that detects the shape of the shinbone by measuring the angles of the lower limbs very precisely. This enables ski boot canting to be adjusted without errors and objective data.

The canting or inclination of the ski boot is the angle between the shell and the cuff of the boot. This adjustment is important because as the bone structure and muscle conformation of each person vary depending on morphology: for legs tending to valgus (X-shaped legs) or varus (bow legs) deformity it is important that the boot is adjusted depending on the shape of the leg.

Canting adjustment without measurement

Canting adjustment with measurement through ski boot CLA

BY ADJUSTING THE CANTING AFTER THE MEASUREMENT CARRIED OUT WITH SKI BOOT CLA THE BOOT ADAPTS TO THE SHAPE OF THE LEG
-By adjusting the angle between the shell and cuff you can maintain the correct position of both the leg and the foot. In this way, skiing will result more natural and safe, improving performance.

THE BASE OF THE BOOT IS INCLINED WITH RESPECT TO THE SURFACE.
-When worn, the boot acquires the inclination of the leg while the base is at an unknown angle in relation to the surface. As a result the edge grip will be difficult.

THE BASE OF THE BOOT IS PARALLEL TO THE SURFACE, BUT CAN CAUSE DISCOMFORT TO THE POSTURE OF THE LEG.
-The search for the correct edge grip can cause an incorrect position of the leg. This not only makes the movement unnatural and uncomfortable, so dangerous, but it can cause joint problems and pain.

Measurement and Adjustment Process

1.Mark the points on the shin bones(legs)

2.Observe the position of the 2 points marked on the shin bones and read angle of inclination

3.Position 2 lasers on upper and lower limit of ski boot cuff on mould closure line
Rotate internal and external canting cams until you obtain angle noted
